exterior temp sensor

Hi guys.

we have had snow and sleet here for the last ten days and I noticed yesterday that my outside tempererature sensor is giving weird readings, i.e. +28 degrees when I know its minus 10 outside.

Is it possible for the sensor to get covered in crap getting splashed up from the road to cause it to misread?

and does anyone know where the sensor is on a JDM/Euro 8g?

Please help.
